The Science Behind CMAP
The CMAP (Continuously Monitoring Airway Pressure) is the world’s first wearable medical device to accurately monitor nasal and oral breathing in real-time using:
- Medical-grade airflow sensors (nasal/oral cannulas)
- Pulse oximetry (SpO2/heart rate via USB-C or Bluetooth®)
- Waveform analysis for clinical insights (FDA-cleared potential)
3-Step Monitoring Process
Baseline Capture
Users perform 5-minute guided breathing exercises to establish a personalized respiratory baseline.
CMAP records normal breathing patterns, heart rate (BPM), and oxygen saturation (SpO2).
Active Monitoring
- Tracks deviations from baseline:
- Day Apnea® (shallow/daytime breathing)
- Screen Apnea® (breath-holding during screen use)
- Tachypnea/Bradypnea (abnormal rhythms)
- Alerts via haptic vibrations or audio cues for immediate correction.
Pulse Oximetry Integration
- Optional finger/earlobe sensors (USB-C or Bluetooth®) for:
- Blood oxygen levels (SpO2)
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Syncs data with third-party wellness apps (e.g., Breathwrk, Othership).
